Join Earth Hour 2010

1 thought(s) to share
Last year (2009), I already participated in this Earth Hour 2009 event by turned off all of electric lamps in my house. And I tell you that I’m proud of what I did. It may sounds silly or a little bit trifling. But I believe that its not the result that matter, but we’re talking about concern here, fellas..

It may not show you a huge result just a moment after the Earth Hour end, I can assure you that. But the fact that more and more people are getting concern about this global warming issue is the top priority of all. Show the world that you really care. Participating in the Earth Hour is one of few ways to show your concern.

Last year, our house was the only house with light out that night in our housing. Even my own husband made fun of me about this. Well, we can’t force people to do what we do, right? We all can just ask and suggest. But in the end, it’s all up to you.

So, for this Earth Hour 2010, I can only say: “Show how much you concern about this.”
If you agree with me and a lot of people like me, please show it.
THANK YOU FOR SHOWING THE WORLD WHAT CAN BE DONE!
REMEMBER TO SWITCH OFF YOUR LIGHTS FOR
EARTH HOUR, 8.30PM, SATURDAY 27TH MARCH
If you want to know more about this Earth Hour and Global Warming issue or want to join the community, you can visit the Earth Hour official site.

New Books

2 thought(s) to share
You know how much I love books. And my youngest brother also noticed this. He knew that I’m collecting books and carefully take care of them like precious jewelry (lol).
Well, he sent me a surprise birthday present yesterday. He stays in a different island so he sent this present with a courier service. I was so surprised.

Inside, I found these books along with a birthday card.
and

I love surprise. I love presents. I love books. And I love him (lol)
I’m currently reading the “The Wednesday Letters” right now and I’m not in a hurry. Soon after I finished with this one, I will continue with the Saga-Darren Shan.

I searched some information about this Saga and found out that I can find 4 more books in the book store. So this Saga consists of 8 books! Isn’t that amazing? I always love trilogy and saga novels like this. They give me more books to read and more time to spend (lol).

Well, thank you then, my dear brother :)

Best Birthday Gift

7 thought(s) to share
I’m a bit busy this day with my Facebook. I’m so touched to read all of wall posts made by my friends today. Yes, they sent me a birthday greetings to day. So many birthday greetings. When I opened my Facebook this morning, there’re already 60 wall posts appeared and I try my best to give a personal reply to each of that wall posts. To show them how thankful I am with their prayers.
Sometimes, the best birthday present is not always be on luxury stuff (I said, sometimes..lol). My best present today is a birthday kiss from my husband this early morning. He gave me his birthday greetings along with an ingenuous short pray for my healthiness, happiness, and maturity. Then he hugged me and kissed my cheeks. At that moment, I sent my pray to God. I want to thank Him for giving me the best man in the world as my husband. And for giving me this life along with my husband, daughter, family members and everyone I’ve ever known.

After that, I got more and more ‘presents’ from my Facebook’s friends. I stay in order to be able to reply their post as soon as I can. I don’t want those posts to be buried by the newer wall posts since I can get easily forget to reply them back. Anyway, you know how I love playing Facebook’s games, right? I met so many new friends from this hobby. I have new friends from US, Poland, Canada, India, Arab, and a few other countries. These new friends, whom I never met in my life, also sent me some birthday greetings. What a wonderful Facebook! Lol..

So, today I want to dedicate this whole day for all of my best friends who might be able to read this post through Networked Blogs on Facebook. I love you all. Thank you so much for your attention. I really appreciate it. May God bless you all. Muuaachh…

Asha's Piggy Bank

3 thought(s) to share
My daughter’s daily activity in the morning is asking her daddy for a little money before he went to his office. This has been happened for almost 1 year now. She will put the money she got into her piggy bank right under our television table (lol).
We both think that we should teach her about saving money while she is very young. She needs to learn that all of the money she got came from her parent’s sweat. Then she must take a responsibility for every penny she asked from us.

Children nowadays are so spoiled with all the easiness they have from their parent’s financial establishment. They can have almost everything they want easily and in a very short time. I think this is one reason of the kid’s lack sense of belonging. If they lost one of their belongings they can just easily ask their parents to buy another new one.

It’s nothing wrong with buying stuffs for our children, since everything we have is for our kids only anyway. We will make sure that we, as parents, provide them the best stuffs that we can get. We want the best for our kids, right? But, we won’t be there for them forever. It’s not the stuff matter, but how they got it and how they took care of it. They should learn about that.

We should take into consideration that they can live their life in the future well by carrying the lessons we taught them when they’re young. By teaching them responsibilities, we may hope that they will still remember this when they grow up and manage their own life. Saving money is one of the lessons we need to teach our kid as soon as we can.

If our little Asha understands about the importance of keeping her money instead of wasting it away, we hope she will do the same thing when she grows up. She will know that she needs to keep her spare money, since she may need to use it in some other time. She must learn to take care of her belongings and learn that she needs to save more money in the future to buy stuff. Mom and dad will help her of course, but she must take a part of it also. So she will learn that every thing needs effort.

Maybe she is too young to know that we already made a back account on her name since the day she was born. We will provide this account for her future needs (especially for school stuffs) beside the money from her piggy bank of course (lol). Anyway, it’s not a piggy bank actually, but a hello kitty bank. A bit like this one. Hahahahaha
