A Dumb Who Wants To Marry You

0 thought(s) to share
Marry You
By: Bruno Mars

It's a beautiful night,
We're looking for something dumb to do.
Hey baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

Is it the look in your eyes,
Or is it this dancing juice?
Who cares baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

Well I know this little chapel on the boulevard we can go oh oh oh,
No one will know oh oh oh,
Oh, come on, girl.
Who cares if we're trashed got a pocket full of cash we can blow oh oh oh,
Shots of patron,
And it's on, girl.

Don't say no, no, no, no-no;
Just say yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah;
And we'll go, go, go, go-go.
If you're ready, like I'm ready.

Cause it's a beautiful night,
We're looking for something dumb to do.
Hey baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

Is it the look in your eyes,
Or is it this dancing juice?
Who cares baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

I'll go get a ring let the choir bells sing like oooh,
So what you wanna do?
Let's just run girl.

If we wake up and you wanna break up that's cool.
No, I won't blame you;
It was fun, girl.

Don't say no, no, no, no-no;
Just say yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah;
And we'll go, go, go, go-go.
If you're ready, like I'm ready.

Cause it's a beautiful night,
We're looking for something dumb to do.
Hey baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

Is it the look in your eyes,
Or is it this dancing juice?
Who cares baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

Just say I doooooo-ooo uhu,
Tell me right now baby,
Tell me right now baby, baby.

Oh, it's a beautiful night,
We're looking for something dumb to do.
Hey baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

Is it the look in your eyes,
Or is it this dancing juice?
Who cares baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

***

First of all, I must confess that I really really love all Bruno Mars' songs. But this particular song has few dumb words which irritates me. I bold all those words on the "Marry Me" lyric above.

I like this song ever since I heard it. The music is fun and the singer's voice is great, until I listen carefully to the lyric. Well, English is obviously my daily language so at first I was doubt and maybe somehow I listen to the wrong words. So I google the actual lyric and found out that I was not that wrong anyway. Turns out that the lyric is not as fun as the music and the singer's voice.

I mean, who among you beautiful ladies out there who want to marry a guy like this? He wants to marry you just because he wants to do something dumb on a beautiful night and of all other dumb things to do he chooses to marry you. He doesn't mention anything about love since I can not find a single word in this entire lyric. And the dumbest of all is the part with underline above. That if somehow, after got married on a stupid night, you wake up and wanna break up, he says: its alright, since last night was fun after all. In other words, you can always get a divorce a few hours after getting married. I can tell you that indeed it is a dumb thing to do.
I consider marriage as sacred thing to do. You need to make sure that you are ready to marry someone and put a commitment into it before putting a ring into your finger. You need to make a plan for your life and think about what you need to do to establish your marriage life. It is not easy. That is why so many people choose to live together with their partners instead of getting married. You face different kind of responsibities when you choose to get married instead of living together. And I am sure that each and every adults know what's the best for their love life whether its married or living together. No one should judges anyone's choice after all.

But considers marriage as a dumb thing to do is totally different. If you really don't feel like want to be with the same person for the rest of your life then why bother getting married at the first place? Every woman wants to marry a responsible and committed man who willing to pour his heart into his new family. Instead of a dumb guy who wants to marry you just because its a beautiful night and he's looking for something dumb to do. Tell him to go away and that he can marry the first tall palm tree he found instead. LoL. Have a nice day ladies :)

Are You A Victim Of Retail Therapy?

4 thought(s) to share
“When I go shopping, the world gets better. And then it doesn’t. So, I need to do it again”

This is a confession of a shopaholic, Rebecca Bloomwood. Well, I love the movie and the drama part as well. I can’t imagine how a woman can be so attached to her need to buy so many things like her. I wonder whether there might be so many real “Rebecca Bloomwood” out there.
Have you heard about the term “Retail Therapy” before? I’m not talking about the Retail Therapy game which I play regularly on Facebook here LoL. But it’s a phrase which means that you have an urge need to go shopping in order to release stresses and calm your mind, just like a therapy did. And Rebecca was one of them.
In my opinion, Retail Therapy won’t bring any good to you but bad debt (if you use credit cards) or empty pocket (if you pay cash). I used to have experiences about this of my own. When I feel sad or confused, I usually decided to go shopping. I can forget about all stresses I have for a while when I’m in the middle of all those beautiful stuff. I always buy at least one of them. But there were so many times when I actually regret my decision to buy that cloths especially after seeing my monthly bill. I manage to stop this habit by convincing myself that I don't want to end up as a bankrupt mom. I should avoid any kind of boutique when I'm in a bad mood. That's why when I heard confession of a shopaholic above that later on, I think that is the deepest thought that I’ve ever heard regarding woman’s urgent need to shop. I can get the point and realize about how bad the situation is. Safe yourself from being a slave of shopping need!
Do not be a part of retail therapy session because it could never solve your problem at all. You will feel better in a few moments and then you will feel that you need to do it over and over again. It's a never ending cycle and going to cost you a lot of money. Because I understand how hard is to ignore those beautiful dresses! LoL.
If you don’t feel good, find someone to talk to such us your hubby, sisters, brothers or close friends. Or you can stay at home alone and listen to your favorite music. Or go to a spa to get a massage. Just don’t go shopping! Another funny option is that you can always play the Retail Therapy game on Facebook instead *wink*

No! My Stuff Is Not Borrow-able!

3 thought(s) to share
It’s not easy being nice, you know. LoL. Sometimes people can’t be rude and irresponsible. Two weeks ago, I let my neighbor borrow one of my travel bags for her niece. Since it was Moslem holidays in Indonesia and usually they will visit their hometown or other families to celebrate that day together. And my neighbor’s niece suddenly asked by her dad to visit him in a different town. She didn’t prepare for that and need more travel bags to carry her stuff. My neighbor came to my house to borrow my travel bag on behalf of her niece.
Actually, I don’t like the idea of lending my things to someone barely new to me. I know this neighbor for 2 months only and we are definitely not a close friend. But I realize I won’t be able to refuse her by telling her that I don’t have a travel bag. It would sound silly! Obviously we are new comers from other town here. There’s no way we don’t have at least one travel bag in my house.
At last, I gave up and lend her one of my travel bag for 2 weeks. And I really hope that she’ll return it back to me right after her niece came back to town. I must realize that we are visitors here and we must have a good relationship with the native people.
Two weeks later I found out that my instinct in the previous week has told me the truth. She returned my travel bag in a worse condition. It’s not a brand new travel bag, I must admit. But it still looks good. But now, I found a big torn part around the edge of my travel bag.
That bag color is dark blue and I didn’t pay much attention when my neighbor came to return the travel bag to my house before. It’s hubby who found it first *sigh*
I have a plan to ask her about this directly and visit her house that night. But then I think again, what would I do then? Ask her for a new one? That’s nonsense because that bag is not a new one. There’s no way I can ask her to pay me certain amount of money for my loss either.
But money is not the reason since I can buy a new travel bag anytime I want. I just want to know why she (and her niece) can be such an irresponsible person. They borrowed that bag in a good condition but they return in back in a broken condition. And the worst part is I think they tried to hide it from me and become dishonest about this. Why can’t they just tell the truth? I’m so disappointing. That will be the last time for me. I’ll never lend my props to other people anymore. I’m not a kind of people who like to borrow other people stuff and I think I’m going to refuse everyone who wants to borrow mine too, except for my parents and family members. And as the reward for my kindness of lending my stuff to other people, I must buy a new travel bag this week! Amazing, huh!

Don't Be Sarcastic

0 thought(s) to share
Do you enjoy sarcastic humors about other people or maybe about your own life? Well, I certainly don't. I hate knowing how people actually tend to hurt somebody else’s heart by making some kind of mean joke. If you have a problem with some else then go straight to meet them face to face then you can express your feeling directly and about how you hate them. It sounds brave huh? But if you feel like you don’t have guts to do so, its better for you to stay silent and stay out of them so that you will spared from any intention to kick someone in the ass.
In my opinion, sarcastic humors is meaningless. If you tend to use it just to hurt somebody else’s heart who apparently hurt you first, then why bother to make a mean humor about it? Just tell them how your feelings directly and face the consequences. Because somehow sarcastic humors will only just make you look like a coward who has no guts to face other people who offended you at the first place. And all you can do is just grumbling or try to hurt them back by making fun of it (which is not funny at all)?
If you try to use sarcastic humors as a media to deliver your opinion about your dissatisfactions to your country, then it will be meaningless also. It won't make you get the answers to your dissatisfaction right away after you made a rude humor about it. Opinions or complains that have been delivered politely in a proper manner tend to gain more attention better than the rude ones.
If you use sarcastic humors just to find a relief for your unfortunate life, then you’re making a fool of yourself. Sarcastic humor tends to bring you down due to its negative influence meanwhile a constructive humor will help you fix your self esteem and positive influence. So why choose the bad humor while you can use good humors (the real humors!) to make you laugh and see this world in a better point of view then?

I Am Sorry

1 thought(s) to share
It’s never easy to say “I’m sorry” and request for forgiveness, especially if it really comes from the bottom of your heart. I mean, if you just say it in order to please other people, then it wouldn’t be that hard for you. Saying I’m sorry is not the end of everything, I think. As a matter of fact, it’s the beginning of everything. Along with the apology come the responsibilities. If we brave enough to admit our mistakes, then we must be brave enough to play the piper as well.

In my opinion, consequences have become the main reason why certain people refuse to ask for apology. They just can not handle the responsibilities. So, they thought that it will be easier to just keep silent and confess nothing at all. They’re not ready yet to finish what they’ve started.

But, in my mind I can see that apologize is a simple word which has enormous meaning inside. People can understand much from someone else apology and tend to react in positive way. I found out that no matter how mad or how hurt we are concerning to other people’s mistake, somehow it can be soothed by a sincere apology.

Indeed, you still need to deal with responsibilities. But at least you can make peace with your own heart first and get ready for the next move. You’re no longer need to argue with your own self whether to confess or not. But you can finally find relief to your mistake and move on to finish what you’ve started before. And I assure you, your next move with the responsibilities will be much easier. So, do apologize…

Have A Blessed Sunday

Have A Great Sunday

Brothers and sisters:
Through faith you are all children of God in Christ Jesus.
For all of you who were baptized into Christ
have clothed yourselves with Christ.
There is neither Jew nor Greek,
there is neither slave nor free person,
there is not male and female;
for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
And if you belong to Christ,
then you are Abraham’s descendant,
heirs according to the promise.
(Gal 3:26-29)

Have a blessed Sunday, everyone...

Who Judge Who?

3 thought(s) to share
How does it feel to have such a power to punish every criminal in this world with your own hands, fellas? Some of those criminal are manage to escape the law by hiring a brilliant defender who able to deflect every evidence easily. I mean, wouldn’t it be better if those bad people just banished along with their crimes?

You must be wondered where and how I got that wicked thought (lol). Well, I was watching a television serial on my cable TV, Dexter. Some of you may also like this serial like I do. He is a man who chooses to kill every criminal he knows, secretly. He considers himself as this world’s hero for what he’s done.

Actually, I’m not talking about Dexter here. I want to talk about the power he has. First, I think I would be happy if someone voluntarily takes the duty to eliminate every bad people in this world. It will make this world safer for our kids in the future. As you may see, lots of criminal keep doing their crimes back right after they got free from jail. Wouldn’t it be better if they just dead by someone who hate the crimes they’ve done just like Dexter did?
But, after a moment, I realize that Hitler did the same thing like Dexter. He killed millions of people just because he considered they’re all criminals. Then who will be the judge for himself? Who will be the judge for Dexter? People can’t be God. We’re all at the same position here, equal. Even God Himself made His own decision about this, apparently. And killing criminal is not one of His agenda; otherwise we all soon find this globe empty, right?

But still the fact that those bad people still have chance to walk away freely makes me crazy. So, what do you think, guys?

The Doctor's Life

0 thought(s) to share
I’ve finished reading my new book yesterday. The title is: Doctors written by Erich Segal. Wow, this is really good book. It tells story about doctors and all their problems. You see, we mostly consider doctors as a manifestation of God. We will follow their leads and listen to all their orders. We put our “lives” in their hands with a hope that they will cure us. We expect them to be perfect and provide the best decisions at all the time.
But this book has shown me the other side of doctors’ lives. The writer showed me how a medical student must work as hard as a horse in order to survive from the Harvard Medical School. How they lost their opportunities to get together with their families for a special occasion just because they need to work at the laboratory during holidays. And how frustrated they are when they have to remember hundreds name of glands, muscles, proteins, etc. and spend the night sleepless with cups and cups of coffee. Very unhealthy!

After that, the story will continue to how they work as interns in hospitals. The writer described the new doctor’s fear when they meet their first patient and how the must conquer their fears and work hard to remember every lessons they got before. That they’re dealing with a human life every time and must make a right decisions every time. It’s a very hard job. That’s the part when I realized that they’re all humans just like us all. The only different is that they’re endowed with the ability to cure other human’s diseases. And sometimes they also feel helpless when they’re facing uncured diseases.
The book also tells the reader about the “dark side” stories of the doctors’ live. How psychiatrists also killed themselves when they can’t face their job’s responsibilities. They can help other people but not be able to help themselves and facing their own problems. Also about the contradiction of euthanasia. And the most interesting thing I found is how female doctors are relatively rare. Do you realized that?

So, whether you’re a doctor or not, you might want to read this book and find out the human side of these doctors lives.

Suicide Story

5 thought(s) to share
Last Sunday, I was in a huge mall in my town along with my family, we got shocked when we saw some police officers walking around. It’s so unusual to see them walking around in the crowd in a mall. First, we thought that they might be seeking for terrorists there and we decided to leave right away.

Until we saw “something” laid down on a pick up truck. And we realized that it’s a human body. And, the policemen brought that body back into the mall to make a reconstruction. And for that, they need to put that body back to where it was before.
Oh my God. I saw that body directly from the third floor. It was a young woman with a long black hair. She looked terrible with her mouth opened. Half of her face was broken and there were lots and lots of blood underneath her broken head. She was so young.

Some speculations were quickly spread. Some said that she was pushed down by somebody and that she was falling down by an accident. But some other said that it was a suicide. She jumped from the fourth floor.

Later on I found out from the television news, that it was a suicide. The surveillance video proved it. That young woman killed herself that day on that mall. What was she thinking?

Life is hard to everybody. Still suicide is not a way out. And I wonder why she chooses to kill herself in a huge mall anyway? She could have just use a knife to cut her arm and died quietly in her room, right? But she decided to do it in a public place where every body can watch her died. It’s pathetic, I think.

I feel sorry for her because she has refused the grace that Lord’s given to her. You can’t make your “problems” as your justification to commit suicide. Everybody has problems. But problems are there to be solved not to run away of. May God forgive her.

High school Reunion

7 thought(s) to share
My friends from high school are going to have a little gathering in my house this Monday. I'm so excited. It’s been a long time since our last time together. We graduated from high school on 1999, so it’s been ten years ago (almost 11 years)! Time goes by, huh?

(High School Uniforms)

It feels like I was on my teenager life just a few years ago when suddenly I realized that it’s been ten years ago.
I remember walking around my school area wearing my grey skirt along with all my teen-pals. Life as teenager is almost without problem. We were only need to focus on our study, especially on the last year of our school. But before that, we spent our day in school happily.

Of course we didn’t use our entire time to study (well, who did anyway?).
We still had sometimes for fun such as watching the movie together or went to visit Lake Toba which is just 1 hour away from our hometown. In other time, we went to eatbakso” (meat balls) together, etc.

(Danau Toba/Toba Lake)

In school, we usually spend time during break time by sitting and talking in front of our class room. We sat together and share stories about every thing, usually the topic was about boys and boys (lol). We always find some thing to talk about. It was really fun! My high school time was really fun so that I still can remember it clearly right now, especially when I saw my daughter, Asha. My time as a teenager has passed by and in the next few years, I will see my own teenager kids. (sigh) it hits me in the head and tell me “You are getting older now. You are a mother.”

Yes, I am. And I’m proud to be what I am right now, with all the responsibilities I have. I still have time to memorize my life as a teenager whenever I want. I still can keep those memories in my mind since I would never let it go. Now, when I bring those memories back, I just smile and smile thinking of how I was on my teenager life.

And when the chance came to meet my old friends back, I can’t tell you how happy I am about this. Maybe I can’t meet every one of them obviously. But it would be very great to meet two or three of my high school friends. And I can’t wait until Monday for it (lol).

The Exclamation Point

4 thought(s) to share
I think we all should be careful of what and how we write about anything before sending it to someone else. When you don’t see that other person directly, still she/he can figure out your mood or your emotion while write those words to her/him. I know when someone mad at me just from the way they wrote me. That’s called individual perception. There are some many different perceptions can be made from a single sentence we wrote. Some considered it as a fun, while some other consider it as harassment. It’s because they can only try to get your point from a sentence. That all. You don’t face them directly to explain it in detail. So, we need to make sure of what we’re going to write down before everyone see it and start to build their own perception about it.

That is why a lot of people choose to use emoticons. I am a kind of person who loves to use emoticon in almost every sentence I wrote on your shout box during my blogwalking. I realize that there is a big possibility that some of you will get a different perception of what I’m talking about if I don’t use emoticon there. This is cyber world. You can’t see me and I can’t see you. So we need to use a correct bride to connect us each other. We need to have a universal sign that can be fully understood even if we don’t see each other. Otherwise, we will face a misunderstanding shortly.

Let’s talk about exclamation point. This simple sign can cause a misunderstanding between two people who can not see each other. Please compare these two sentences below, fellas. I made this sentence as an analogy of what I’m trying to tell you about.
Imagine if someone sent you an email with this sentence on it.

”I already sent you a text message this morning. Take a look at your cell phone!”
compare with
”I already sent you a text message this morning. Take a look at your cell phone

Can you see the perceptions that might be appear after reading this sentence?

The second sentence looks exactly like the first one except on the final signs. The first one ended by an exclamation point, meanwhile the second one ended by a winking emoticon.

I think the first sentence is more like a command and show me how the sender was in a bad mood.

The sender also shows impatience and a bit annoyed. There is no sign of jokes on it. The exclamation point may even show this sentence is an order that you must follow as soon as possible. Otherwise, you will get punished. I’m telling you, there’s nothing funny about this sentence even if the sender was your fiancé, right?

Meanwhile, even if we used exactly the same words on the second sentence we can find a different kind of perception. The wink emoticon sign has dulcified the sign of command on it. In fact, this emoticon also asked the reader to smile. We still can find an admonition on it but also the feeling that that admonition was sent by a friend. So we don’t need to feel offended at all. What do you think?

That’s why I always try to avoid using this exclamation point on my articles, unless I want to reinforce the command meaning inside it of course. I have a kind of article like this here. Otherwise, I would never use that sign at all. When I need to use the exclamation pont to reinforce the main message, I will also give the emoticon sign along with it. So that nobody will get the wrong perception of that sentence. Such as:

”Merry Christmas everyone!”

Have a great sunday, fellas.

Carpe Diem

8 thought(s) to share
What will you do if you have a chance to know when and how you’re going to die?

This is the question I ask myself one night, when I saw some body died a few days ago. Will you take that chance right away? For a moment I think, why not?

If only you know when and how you’re going to die; you can use your last days doing every good things that you can ever imagine in your life. You can start helping those who needs help or maybe you will join the charity community for example. You want to use your entire time to make other people happy. Then when your time has come, you can leave this world with a big satisfaction because you already help many people in your life.

You can have another option too. You may spend your last days to have a fancy holiday and use all the money you have for fun. Well, you can not take that money with you when you dead, right? Then you can use that money to travel around the world and stay in a big five stars hotel. Then you can buy all the most expensive things that maybe you can not afford before.

Or maybe you just want to spend more time with you family? Then you fell that you need to quit from your job then choose to stay at home. You play with your children all day long; cook the best food for them; clean your house and stuff. Or maybe you plan to make something special for your husband that will make him remember you after you’re gone; such as a handkerchief with your both names on it maybe.

Then I come up with another question in the end? What is the goal of all that plans anyway?

If I choose to spend my last days doing charity, isn’t means that deep down in my heart I hope that all those people I have will treat me good when I died? That I hope they will pray for me for every good thing that I have done for them? Well, it sounds selfish in the end of the day.

So if I choose to travel around the world and spend all the money I have to buy things that I actually don’t need, isn’t it sounds more selfish to you? I think we should keep our money to help those who will need it after we died. Our kids can use that money for school and stuff, right?

And the last choice, when I choose to spend my last day with my family, I don’t think that I will ever have a quality time with them whatsoever. How can I laugh with my kids when I realize that maybe that is the last time we have for laughing together? How can kiss my husband with love when I realized that maybe that can be our last kiss? No, no, no.

I have an answer now for that question above. Even if I have a chance to know when and how am I going to die, I will let it go and forget it.

I think it will not bring any advantage at all for me to know such a thing. All I need to go on with this life is Carpe Diem. I should enjoy whatever I have right now. I will do charity because I love other people and that’s why I must help those who need my help. I will visit every place that I really can afford to visit. I will use the extra money I have for “me time” in this world without having bankruptcy because of that. And I will always spend more time with my family also. Not because the reality that I am going to die, but because the reality that I’m still alive.

It’s amazing to find what we can do in our life time. Then why bother about our time to die? Do everything in your life like you will live forever then you will enjoy every single minute you have with a smile.

Do not waste your time thinking about when and how you’re going to die. It doesn’t matter if you die one day because every people will die some day; and in the mean time, you really need to live your life.

So, do you still want to know when and how are you going to die?

Are You Precious Enough?

0 thought(s) to share
The death of King Of Pop, Michael Jackson, caused a commotion in world. This uproar has become more hectic than the death of Princess Diana a few years ago. Both Michael Jackson and Lady Di are really blessed with their own allures and successfully gained a special place in the world’s heart, although there’s a certain difference that comes between them.

Lady Di has been loved by this world, because of her charity activities. While Michael Jacksonhas been loved because of his everlasting songs. People remember him also with his moonwalk style, great dancing as well as his unique costumes.

Even when the press judged him as a pedofilia and even he had a mysterious life stories, Michael Jackson is always be the world’s subject of adoration. When most of Afro-American considered him as a betrayal, but a lot of white people adore him too with his fake white skin. His songs has vanished the gap between every races in this world. Michael Jackson has a big talent in music. His songs are always remember as well as his video clips.

One thing I remember from Michael Jackson’s songs is the humanitarian theme, such as Heal The World, Black or White, and We Are The World, etc. The song Heal The World itself has become an icon to many charity commercials.

Even here in Indonesia, several TV stations are also competing each other to publish Michael Jackson’s story of life; whereas he doesn’t even Indonesian. Not to mention every other country that has the same plan about this. So it seems like Jacko will be more famous when he’s dead than alive.

A friend of mine on Facebookwrote something about Michael Jackson death.
”Will our lives be precious enough to be remembered by other people when we’re gone?”

It’s just a simple question but need a lot of muse to answer. Have we done something useful for other people in this short life already? Have we given something that can make other people remember us back when we leave this world someday? It’s something that makes people mourning because of our death. Or in the other side maybe they just feel grateful for our death.

We can not expect this world to remember us like they remember Michael Jackson. But we are Michael Jackson for our closest people. We are Lady Di. We are Mother Theresa. We are Nelson Mandela. Maybe it’s not for the world; but for our family and friends. Let’s do something useful in our lives. And when the time has come for us to leave this world; they will remember us for that.

Elephant dies leaving its ebony, tiger dies leaving its skin, and human dies leaving his/her name. The choice is all ours. We determine ourselves whether will be remembered for our life time or just vanished without trace when we’re leaving this world.
