Unique Award

1 thought(s) to share
I receive a unique award recently. Read more and you will find why I called this unique. I got this award from Yunie including a unique game to do and post as well. This is cute award I think. And I would love to share this award too. For hot female blogger out there..

Then here is the game:
1. Give this award to other female blogger you know complete with the reason why.
2. Do not forget to give a link back to the person who gave you this award
3. Try to googling this phrase: “[your name] needs”
4. Choose the top ten of the results and post it on your article
5. Find out the results..

Well, I choose to use name: Mommy instead of Risma, because a friend of mine also give me the same award on Blog Perempuan Rumahan and this is to avoid the same results for different blogs.

And these are my results:
1. Mommy needs A Cocktail (I wonder why am I going to need this anyway?)
2. Mommy needs coffee (Yup! This is my favorite all the time. Bravo!)
3. Mommy needs to know (yeah, I need and must know every thing about motherhood and womanhood.)
4. Mommy needs therapy (a skin therapy will be good. I need it)
5. Mommy needs Needs (I already have a bunch of needs. You don't have to remind me about that.)
6. Mommy needs cocktail (again?!?!?!?!?)
7. Mommy needs jaundice helps (I need to open a dictionary for this word and the result is penyakit kuning pada bayi)
8. Mommy needs a review (yaaa...I'm looking forward to this. Hire me to review.. Anyone?)
9. Mommy needs 5 minutes (to write something on my Twitter status. Follow me then)
10. Mommy needs a life (Well, I already have my own life and proud of it.)
See? It’s a fun game indeed, right?

And I hope that Jenny, Morika, and Santhy will be very happy to receive it. I admire you as hottest female bloggers.

I Love Vegetables

4 thought(s) to share
“Broccoli tastes good, dear. And it also good for your body.”
I’m sure all of you, moms out there, have ever told this to your kids, right? You also try to explain about how vegetables help to maintain our health every day. But does it work? I don’t think so. Most of kids nowadays really hate vegetables and fruits.

And if so, do you push them to eat all the vegetables in their plates? Well, I do. But after I read a book written by Dr. Derrick Cutting, I think I need to reconsider the method I use about introducing this vegetable food for my daughter.

He said in his book that if we push our kids to eat vegetables, the only result we have is maybe we will find those vegetables hidden behind our refrigerator in the next month, because our kids choose to throw it away in the place that you can not see. So that when you see their plates are clean and consider that they have eaten all their vegetables, you won’t get mad. But the secret is that you don’t see that the vegetables were hidden in some places.

Pushing your kids to eat is always makes your problems getting bigger all the time.

I fact is we need to educate our kids about the value of food that have been served for them. They need to feel happy in their meal times.

There are methods that ask parents to use an extreme way to push kids about eating vegetables, by keep serving them all the time, even if they don’t touch it at all. So that when they finally get starving, they will eat those foods they hate because there’s nothing else to eat.

It’s like parents try to tell their children:
“This is your meal whether you like it or not. I don’t care if you hate vegetables. You will eat them anyway when you get hungry.”
The kids indeed will eat the meal but they can not enjoy the meal and that is not healthy.

Dr. Cutting suggests parents to pick other nice way to educate their children about the value of food. When you start to introduce a new kind of food, such as vegetables, start with a small amount first. And don’t forget to give this new food along with the kind of food that they already know before, so that the new taste will blend with the familiar one.

But when they reject that new food don’t be so angry with them. Tell them that maybe you should try to give that food again when they’re bigger. Then try to give that food again in the next few weeks. In the mean time, we can still find other different kind of food which has the same nutrition qualities.

If they hate broccoli, then try to introduce them another kind of vegetables. But we need to take a special attention about how are we going to serve that vegetable. Children who hate spinach can somehow like roasted carrot. Maybe they do not hate the vegetables. They just want them served in a certain way or maybe with a certain kind of seasoning.

I also have seen a mother who chooses to make puree of many different kind of vegetables, such as: carrots, broccoli, tomato, spinach, etc. Then she uses that purees in many kind of food for her kids. For example, she used spinach puree for her home making pizza or carrot puree for chicken nugget. And her kids love all of that food because they don’t even realize the vegetables tastes in the food they eat. I think this is a good way out for children who hate vegetables.

At last, why we don’t try to find a perfect recipe for vegetables so that our kids will enjoy their meal time and eat those vegetables with fun?

Do Something!!!

0 thought(s) to share
Again and again Malaysia claims one of Indonesian’s culture heritages as theirs. This time they choose “Tari Pendet” from Bali

just like they claimed “Reog Ponorogo”

as one of their original culture a few months ago. Before that, they already claimed Batik

and “Rasa Sayange song” as their own. It seems to me like they keep continuing to seek other Indonesian cultures to be claimed again.

How can they do such a thing over and over again? I can not see any real positive responses from our authority about this reality. They don’t seem to care about losing many of our precious culture heritages after all. When there were many protests already showed up in every mass media due to this problem, the authority chooses to deal with this problem silently. What is wrong with you all?

We lost out ancestors’ precious gifts one by one and you still can put a big smile on your face and say that every thing is going to be okay. Even a teenager can see that nothing is okay with this situation. It makes me sick to read so many Indonesian blogger articles contain of mockery to Malaysia when we can make friends in this cyber world. I find this situation can make conflicts among bloggers themselves, because some of those articles were so provocative. Don’t you guys feel the same with me too?

This situation must be stopped. I am sure that either Indonesia or Malaysia can figure out a best solution for this problem. Malaysia MUST STOP claiming Indonesian’s culture heritages as it’s own. We call that STEAL! I am sure that your country has so many different precious kinds of cultures too. Use them instead. You should not claim other country’s culture just because you find them interesting and precious. I suppose you’re still having your dignity, right?

And for Indonesia authority itself, I think they should make a good inventory about our every culture assets as soon as possible, to prevent this kind of problem in the future again. Stop showing that big smile on your faces and start to work. If you let this situation go on without any solutions you will find the problem has getting bigger all the time. And it’s your duty to prevent such a thing to happen.

Go Play With Your Toys

4 thought(s) to share
A few days ago, we had to take Asha to a doctor; het body temperature has almost reach 40°C. Actually, she already started to have this fever since last Monday. We thought it might be just an ordinary fever because we took her to swimming pool on Sunday morning.

First I just give her a medicine for fever like Naprex and it usually works on her. But after a few hours, her condition is not getting better. And the worst is happen by 11 PM when her body temperature has almost 40°C, and then I decided to call my husband right away and asked him to come home soon. We must take her to the hospital.

Asha is kind of toddler that never cry on a high fever condition. She just sleep and sometimes talking while sleeping. But I know that something is wrong because I can hear her breathing so fast. We must take her to the doctor or Emergency if we have to.

Then we go to a hospital that night. We realized that we will never find pediatrician in that late time, so we only meet a doctor who in charge in Emergency Room that night. He gave Asha a kind of medicine that must be given through her anus. Sad to see her cried loudly along this process but we must strengthen our hearts for it is the best for her.

We took her home around 1 PM and she began to sweating a lot and that is a good sign. Usually, when the sweats come out and so will the fever. She still gets a fever that night but only around 37°-38°C and we have nothing to worry about.
And thank God for the next morning our daughter condition is getting better all the time. The fever has gone and she can smile again today.

Pyuhh.. All the flusters and fears that we experience that night has blown away. Go play with your toys again, my dear daughter..

Tears of Bomber's Mother

3 thought(s) to share
Mother of Dani Dwi Permana publicly send her apologize on behalf of her son that had been accused as one of the suicide bombers in Jakarta a few days ago. It’s sad to see a mother’s tears falling down because of what her kid’s had done. I’m sure that she has given every thing she could to raise her son in a good way and hope that someday he can be a loving person and have a good life in the future. It must hurt her very much when she must look at her son’s dead body.

What were those bombers thinking? Don’t they ever think about their families they left behind? Don’t they ever thing that their actions will hurt their own family too? A mother should cry in happiness when they see their kids have made a good thing in life. She won’t ask much. All that she want is having a peaceful and happy life with her baby that has been grown up a few years later and has a better life and future as well.

What can she expect now from that dead body? She already lost her hope and dreams that someday she could spend her last days with her son because he chooses to leave her first. What kind of son is that?

I think we must think about our relatives before we do something that might cause harm to ourselves or to other people as well. Think about your mother’s tears; think about your brother’s shame, think about your sister’s sadness. Isn’t it meaning something to you?

And if those bombers thought that in the end the terrible thing they’ve done has made them live peacefully in heaven, I think they should think it back. Heaven is not a place for those who made their mothers cried in sadness. Heaven is not a place for those who made the mothers of their victims cried. What kind of heaven is they’re going to anyway? Is that heaven accepting people who feel proud because they can spread other people’s blood? It’s really a weird heaven then if it’s really exists.

I feel sorry for what that mothers must facing up within the couples of days with the title as “terrorist” that have been given to their beloved sons. Poor you, mother. You raised a son that bring you such a sadness that you must carry for the rest of your life. And shame on you, every kids that give nothing but tears to your own mothers.

Carpe Diem

8 thought(s) to share
What will you do if you have a chance to know when and how you’re going to die?

This is the question I ask myself one night, when I saw some body died a few days ago. Will you take that chance right away? For a moment I think, why not?

If only you know when and how you’re going to die; you can use your last days doing every good things that you can ever imagine in your life. You can start helping those who needs help or maybe you will join the charity community for example. You want to use your entire time to make other people happy. Then when your time has come, you can leave this world with a big satisfaction because you already help many people in your life.

You can have another option too. You may spend your last days to have a fancy holiday and use all the money you have for fun. Well, you can not take that money with you when you dead, right? Then you can use that money to travel around the world and stay in a big five stars hotel. Then you can buy all the most expensive things that maybe you can not afford before.

Or maybe you just want to spend more time with you family? Then you fell that you need to quit from your job then choose to stay at home. You play with your children all day long; cook the best food for them; clean your house and stuff. Or maybe you plan to make something special for your husband that will make him remember you after you’re gone; such as a handkerchief with your both names on it maybe.

Then I come up with another question in the end? What is the goal of all that plans anyway?

If I choose to spend my last days doing charity, isn’t means that deep down in my heart I hope that all those people I have will treat me good when I died? That I hope they will pray for me for every good thing that I have done for them? Well, it sounds selfish in the end of the day.

So if I choose to travel around the world and spend all the money I have to buy things that I actually don’t need, isn’t it sounds more selfish to you? I think we should keep our money to help those who will need it after we died. Our kids can use that money for school and stuff, right?

And the last choice, when I choose to spend my last day with my family, I don’t think that I will ever have a quality time with them whatsoever. How can I laugh with my kids when I realize that maybe that is the last time we have for laughing together? How can kiss my husband with love when I realized that maybe that can be our last kiss? No, no, no.

I have an answer now for that question above. Even if I have a chance to know when and how am I going to die, I will let it go and forget it.

I think it will not bring any advantage at all for me to know such a thing. All I need to go on with this life is Carpe Diem. I should enjoy whatever I have right now. I will do charity because I love other people and that’s why I must help those who need my help. I will visit every place that I really can afford to visit. I will use the extra money I have for “me time” in this world without having bankruptcy because of that. And I will always spend more time with my family also. Not because the reality that I am going to die, but because the reality that I’m still alive.

It’s amazing to find what we can do in our life time. Then why bother about our time to die? Do everything in your life like you will live forever then you will enjoy every single minute you have with a smile.

Do not waste your time thinking about when and how you’re going to die. It doesn’t matter if you die one day because every people will die some day; and in the mean time, you really need to live your life.

So, do you still want to know when and how are you going to die?
